On April 4th, journalist Gianluca Di Marzio reported Arsenal are ready to offer €6m per year deal to Bologna star Joshua Zirkzee.
This was backed up by Calciomercato last week, who stated the Gunners are AC Milan’s most dangerous rival to sign the striker.
A fresh report from Calciomercato states the Serie A side seem to be ahead of Arsenal in the transfer race.
Zirkzee has managed 12 goals and seven assists from 34 games this season and his fine displays have tempted several European clubs, including Arsenal and Milan.
The Rossoneri have already had several contacts with the 22-year-old’s entourage, just like the Gunners and Juventus.
Milan are set to part ways with Stefano Piolo after this season but that hasn’t changed their plans for the Dutchman. It’ll be a ‘real chess game’ for them to sign him, probably due to the competition from Mikel Arteta’s side and Juve.
The report states the San Siro club have already made their move and feel they are ahead of other clubs. Their position could be stronger if the player favours them over Arsenal, Juve or any other club.
Arteta’s side are said to have already formulated an offer and the repeated contacts with his camp would be a sign of real efforts to sign Zirkzee in the next window. Whether they’ll be successful or not remains to be seen.
