Last week, we relayed an article from Turkey claiming that Manchester United were interested in Trabzonspor’s Yusuf Yazici.
However, if the latest reports from Turkey are to be believed, it’s Arsenal who have made the first move, with Habertürk claiming the Gunners have made an official €16m offer for the young attacking midfielder.
According to the Turkish outlet, Arsène Wenger’s side also happens to be the 20-year-old’s favourite Premier League team.
Despite attracting a lot of attention during the second half of last season after exploding onto the scene, Trabzonspor managed to hold onto their starlet over the summer, and plan on doing so until at least the end of the current campaign.
Habertürk state that while Arsenal’s offer has been ‘met with excitement’, no positive or negative response to the bid has been given.
The outlet state that regardless of the amount put on the table, the Süper Lig side intent on keeping their starlet for now.
We’ll have to wait and see if more comes out of this, but if Manchester United and Arsenal, as well as Ligue 1 champions Monaco, are after him, we could end up with an interesting bidding war next year.
