Following his spat with Neal Maupay against Brighton & Hove Albion, Mattéo Guendouzi has fallen out of favour at Arsenal.

Struggling to feature under Mikel Arteta, it was made clear the Frenchman could find himself a new club this summer, and many reports about this were written.

However, nothing has been found yet, but Arsenal are doing their best to offload him, and if they can get a player out of it too, then that’s even better.

That’s what RMC Sport’s Mohamed Bouhafsi is reporting on Tuesday, claiming Arsenal ‘contacted Lyon a few weeks ago’ offering ‘money + Guendouzi’ for Houssem Aouar.

This offer was ‘refused’ by Lyon.

The report backs up previous claims from L’Equipe, although Arteta’s preference for the player and the fact they haven’t come back is new.

According to Bouhafsi, Arteta is said to ‘adore’ Aouar, but since that bid was turned down, the Gunners ‘haven’t come back’.

Maybe they’re biding their time, or they just don’t have the money to up their offer, clearly hoping adding Guendouzi into the mix would do the trick.
