Arsenal are interested in the signing of Lyon midfielder Bruno Guimarães, according to reports from Brazil.
Goal writes that the Gunners now have the player ‘on their radar’ and now ‘evaluate’ the possibility of making an effort for his transfer this summer.
It’s claimed that Arsenal made ‘some queries’ with Lyon and now think about making an official offer for the 23-year-old.
The story says the French side would only accept to open talks for over €35m, but it isn’t said how much are the Gunners willing to spend on the signing.
Goal recalls that Arsenal have been interested in Bruno Guimarães for a long time, as they even tried to sign him in January 2020.
At that time, he had already agreed the transfer to Lyon, who spent €20m on his signing.
The report says Edu Gaspar follows the player since his time as a technical coordinator at the Brazilian national team, and the pursuit now is boosted by the rejection of Sassuolo midfielder Manuel Locatelli.
Speaking to sources close to the deal, Sport Witness could confirm that Arsenal’s interest is real, even though it isn’t guaranteed that the Gunners will match Lyon’s demands.
Bruno Guimarães is currently playing the Olympics with Brazil, and is set to feature in the quarter-finals against Egypt on Saturday.
