Arsenal have maintained an interest in Alexander Isak after failing to sign the Real Sociedad star in the winter market.

That’s according to AS, who have a report that explains the Gunners showed ‘strong interest’ in the 22-year-old in January.

It’s further claimed the Premier League club are ‘in love with him’ and have the attacker on their agenda for the next window. Liverpool and Manchester United are also named as suitors.

Faced with such a demand, La Real are ‘beginning to assume’ they will have to ‘open up to listen to offers and negotiate’ for two reasons.

The first is to do with his skyrocketing price as the report adds ‘very high offers’ are expected to arrive at the club after this season. The possibility of a suitor paying his €90m release clause has not been ruled out right now.

Real Sociedad president Jokin Aperribay ‘made a commitment’ to the Sweden international last summer that he would be more flexible when it comes to negotiating his exit in the upcoming window, if there is a good proposal from an ‘powerful club’.

This is the second reason.

The Spanish club’s initial intention was to not negotiate, but they are aware they must do it, if Isak makes a request. They ‘begin to take for granted that they will have to listen to offers’.

Arsenal are ‘in love with him’ and with Liverpool and United in the picture, AS say these clubs are ‘literally fighting’ to acquire the attacker’s signature in the summer. If any one of them were to make a convincing offer, there could be a good chance of a deal taking shape.
