Arsenal are ‘in love’ with Sevilla midfielder Joan Jordan, although they are yet to make a move to sign him this summer.
That’s according to MARCA, who say the midfielder’s performances for Sevilla this season have not gone unnoticed by the Gunners.
Jordan has been one of the key players for Sevilla this season, playing a starring role in their midfield with six assists and one goal in 27 games in the league so far.
Reports in January claimed Arsenal were keen because of that, with Mikel Arteta wanting to add a midfielder to his squad this summer.
Ultimately a move in January didn’t happen, but it appears the interest has not gone away with MARCA stating that Jordan is ‘closely watched’ by the Gunners.
They claim Arteta and co. are ‘in love’ with Jordan’s play style, although neither Arsenal nor other suitors Juventus have had ‘direct contact’ with the player’s entourage or Sevilla about a possible move.
If they were to enquire, they are likely to be told that they would need to match his €50m release clause, with Jordan tied down to a deal until 2023.
The interest is clearly there, though, and depending on what happens with the likes of Martin Ødegaard, Jordan’s name may be one to keep an eye on come the summer.
