With the World Cup now upon us, clubs have to think about ways to keep their unselected players fit, and that means friendlies.
Arsenal are among those planning the next month or so, and the idea would be to face some top sides to attract some sort of crowd, even with international football on.
The Gunners are already set to face Lyon and Milan, but it appears another Italian club in the shape of Juventus could be an opponent for them.
According to La Stampa, relayed by Il Bianconero, the Serie A side are planning two games against Arsenal and Barcelona for their own break.
While the ‘details are missing’, it’s said the work behind the scenes is ‘in motion’ and ‘the announcement is expected in the next few days’.
The idea would be for Juventus to face Arsenal in London on Saturday December 17th, while the game against Barcelona would be played on the 22nd.
This means it would come four days after the Milan one for the Gunners, whose first official fixture after the World Cup will be to host West Ham on Boxing Day.
Arsenal currently sit top of the Premier League after 14 games, five points clear of their nearest competition, Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City.
