Arsenal and Leicester City continue to be pointed out as potential destinations for young Empoli star Samuele Ricci.
It was back in April that the Italian media first reported that the Gunners and the Foxes are chasing the 19-year-old, as both clubs had initiated contacts for his signing.
Now with the season coming to an end, website Serie B News brings the latest on the midfielder’s future, claiming it’s still not known whether Ricci will stay or leave Empoli this summer.
They state the player’s entourage is waiting to meet the Italian side, but that isn’t happening anytime soon.
In fact, the talks were delayed as the club have other priorities to sort, meaning the transfer business will be frozen for now.
That means all the clubs who are chasing Ricci are being ‘forced to wait’.
Serie B News says the interest from Arsenal and Leicester City ‘never waned’, as after ‘exploratory talks’, they’re now ‘waiting to understand what to do in the coming weeks’.
The Premier League sides, however, also have the competition from Serie A clubs, as the likes of Fiorentina, Milan and Napoli are all keeping an eye on the midfielder as well.
Previous reports from the local media said Empoli would demand €15m for Ricci’s transfer.
