Loaned from Amiens SC for €2m with a view to buy at €8m (which will be triggered), Lyon’s Tanguy NDombélé has been one of this season’s Ligue 1 revelations.

The 21-year-old has been one of the more regular features in Bruno Génésio’s side over the past seven months, making 39 appearances in all competitions.

His consistent performances have attracted a lot of interest, as has his ability to either play in front of the defence or a bit further up the pitch, and Arsenal are taking notes.

According to Mercato365 in France, someone from Arsenal was present to watch the young midfielder play against CSKA Moscow in the Europa League, a game which he both started and finished on the pitch.

With Jack Wilshere seemingly on his way out and (far less believable) rumours surrounding the future of Aaron Ramsey, a new midfielder at the Emirates certainly wouldn’t hurt, but we’re dealing with Lyon here.

Jean-Michel Aulas won’t be keen to see his new starlet leave in the summer, especially with the potential departure of Nabil Fékir, who might be feeling he’s achieved all he can with Lyon, and it would take a large offer for him to even consider it, especially with Amiens set to receive a maximum of 20% of his next transfer fee.

One to keep an eye on.
