Arsenal are eyeing a move for Athletic Bilbao defender Dani Vivian after his impressive start to the season with the Spanish club.

That’s according to Fichajes.net, who say the defender is ‘beginning to attract’ attention from clubs like Arsenal.

They explain that Athletic’s good start to the season has seen several of their players earning attention and appear on La Liga’s rankings for the best players.

One of them is Vivian, who has some of the best statistics among defenders and is, therefore, ‘attracting the attention’ of the Premier League.

Several clubs in England’s top flight are ‘already following him closely’, and Arsenal are one of the sides that have him ‘on their books’.

They are said to be ‘following in his footsteps’, particularly because he has a €40m release clause in his contract, a figure which seems low for a player with his potential.

That potential is only set to develop into ability as he continues in Athletic’s first-team, and it ‘will not be surprising’ if his list of suitors starts to grow.

Arsenal are already on it, though, and apparently eyeing another central defender for Mikel Arteta’s squad.
