Borussia Dortmund sporting director Michael Zorc has dismissed rumours linking midfielder Julian Brandt with a move to Arsenal.
The German midfielder has been named as a possible target for Arsenal in the summer, with it believed Mikel Arteta is keen to add a creative midfielder to his ranks.
Brandt is reportedly one of several that they are looking at, with it recently claimed that they have already made ‘important moves’ to make a deal happen.
That same report indicated that Brandt could be available as he has fallen out of favour at Dortmund and does not feel valued at the club.
The rumour was quickly dismissed by the Bundesliga side, with Zorc coming out and publicly rubbishing the claims by insisting there was ‘nothing on the table’ from Arsenal.
He’s now doubled down on that today, further pouring cold water on the rumours linking his player to the Gunners.
“We can’t help the fact that rumours are constantly being spread that are simply not true,” Ruhr Nachrichten report him saying at a press conference ahead of Dortmund’s clash with RB Leipzig.
“Basically, we would, of course deal with each situation individually – even with an economic background that is not rosy due to the pandemic situation.
“But there is not even a hint of anything on the table.”
