Arsenal have started working on the signing of Real Madrid star Eden Hazard, according to claims today.
French outlet Foot Mercato writes the Gunners are currently ‘thinking’ of the 31-year-old and ‘initiated the first contacts’ for a summer move, gathering information on his situation at the Santiago Bernabeu.
Now despite the ‘real’ interest from Mikel Arteta’s side, the talks are still to have considerable developments for Arsenal.
Eden Hazard is having another discreet season at Real Madrid, currently with one goal and two assists in 22 appearances. Foot Mercato claims the player’s wish is to stay at the club and continue fighting for his place, but at the end of the season, it will be time to sit and think about his future.
Signed from Chelsea in a €115m deal in the summer of 2019, the winger still has a deal with the Galacticos running until 2024.
Even though he wouldn’t rush to leave, the report points out that he knows the Premier League ‘like the back of his hand’, and that’s an advantage he’d have in case of a move to Arsenal or elsewhere in England.
