Towards the end of the summer transfer window, there were a spate of articles suggesting Franck Kessié could be heading to Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Despite an alleged late push from Wolves, the transfer never came about, and the Ivory Coast international remained in Milan for the 2019-20 season.
Interest from the Premier League hasn’t waned, however, as we have since seen other clubs linked with the midfielder, including Arsenal.
MilanNews24 come forward with an article late on Tuesday claiming the Gunners are still keeping an eye on Kessié, and say ‘he could leave in the summer direction London’.
They state Arsenal are ‘increasingly tempted to try the lunge’, but they have set themselves a price limit.
The website explain Mikel Arteta’s side ‘do not put more than €20m on the plate’, suggesting that while they do want the Ivorian, they won’t go all out.
Down Milan’s end, it’s an amount ‘they could accept’ if Ralf Rangnick, who could take over from Stefano Pioli, ‘were to have different plans for the midfielder’.
If they do sell him, then Milan could turn their attention to RB Salzburg’s Dominik Szoboszlai as a replacement.
A lot of ifs in there, and it all seems to rest on whether or not Rangnick takes over in Milan, which isn’t a guarantee just yet.
