Loaned to Udinese for the second half of last season, Pablo Marí impressed away from Arsenal.

This led to clubs taking an interest in his services, with Hellas Verona the latest making a push to sign the defender.

It would be a loan regardless, and the Serie A side ‘are trying to reach an agreement for the distribution of the wages of the Spanish player’, according to Corriere di Verona.

His salary of £1.5m/year are ‘outside the parameters of Verona’, and therefore want Arsenal to try and help them so they can take the defender off their hands.

Thankfully for the Serie A side, the Gunners are ‘available to contribute to the payment’, and ‘there will be further discussions between the parties in the coming days’.

The idea is to ‘arrive at a favourable solution’ for all parties, which would ideally be Pablo Marí going to Verona, and Arsenal seeing him play regular football elsewhere for a season in hope he impresses enough that people want to buy him for good next summer.
