Needing someone to replace Aaron Ramsey, who will be heading to Juventus at the end of the season, Arsenal have apparently ticked Jordan Veretout as one of their potential options.

The story was first reported (from what we can see) by Le Foot in France, and was then confirmed by the Italian press, who explained the midfielder’s agent had travelled to London to watch Arsenal last week when the Gunners hosted Napoli in the Europa League.

This was touted as a good opportunity for him to hold talks with the Premier League side about his client, and that’s exactly what he did.

Calciomercato on Wednesday have a story on their website, shared as a video on YouTube, where they explain Mario Giuffredi did sit down with Arsenal’s transfer board, although that doesn’t necessarily mean they will get their man.

Napoli are also extremely keen and are believed to be in pole position for the former Aston Villa midfielder, with the club’s director of football, Cristiano Giuntoli, in talks with Fiorentina to get a €25m deal over the line.

Milan are also lurking, but they appear to be some way behind their Serie A rivals.

Jordan Veretout has scored five goals (one more than Ramsey) and assisted teammates three times in 28 league appearances this season.
