Arsenal are ‘in the front row’ for Inter Milan defender Denzel Dumfries as the Italian side plan to sell him this summer.
That’s according to Tuttosport, relayed by L’Interista, who surprisingly name the Gunners among the ‘interested clubs’ in the Dutchman.
They explain that Dumfries is on Inter’s list of possible sales for the summer as they look to secure big outgoings to further aid their financial situation.
They have already identified Tajon Buchanan as the perfect replacement for him and are now waiting for the right offer to arrive for Dumfries before they can ‘cash in’ on him.
Inter would like to make at least €60m from a sale, at least that is the price being requested by chairman Steven Zhang, but whether anyone will pay that price remains to be seen.
Arsenal are among the ‘interested clubs’, though, and are said to be in the ‘front row’ of those showing attention to the defender.
That’s somewhat surprising as they have not been named among his suitors over the last 18 months, when he has regularly been linked with a move to the Premier League.
They are not in desperate need of a right-back either, with Ben White impressing in that position this season and Takehiro Tomiyasu an able deputy/replacement as well.
Tuttosport insist that Arsenal are interested, though, so they’re a name to keep an eye on as Inter look to move Dumfries on in the coming months.
