After a week or so of being constantly linked with Lazio, Lucas Perez could instead land a few miles away at Frosinone.

The story started after Gianluca Di Marzio revealed talks between club and player had taken place, with the 29-year-old visiting the club’s infrastructures.

Unable to afford a full transfer, a deal taking the Spaniard to Rome would be a loan, but Gazzetta dello Sport report on Wednesday Arsenal aren’t all that keen about that.

The player, however, is said to be ‘intrigued’ at the opportunity, and, as has been repeated time and time again, a move to the area, whether it be with Lazio or Frosinone, would allow him to be closer to one of his good friends, Luis Alberto.

The pair formed a great relationship at Deportivo La Coruña during the 2015-16 season, and while a reunion at the same club is still a possibility if Simone Inzaghi’s side can get rid of Felipe Caicedo, he might have to make do with playing in a different team close by.

Currently preparing for the new season with the Gunners, Pérez spent last season on loan at the aforementioned Spanish side.
