Arsenal fans have spent much of the current transfer window hoping their club make a serious move for Houssem Aouar, and manage to secure the midfielder from Lyon.

They’ve had a reasonable chance of doing so, with Jean-Michel Aulas pressured into listening to his offers for his stars, given the Ligue 1 club need to bring in some funds.

The midfielder has impressed clubs around Europe with his performances in France, and there’s been repeat claims of interest from Juventus. On September 16th, Telefoot Chaine reported the Gunners are set to make a ‘concrete offer’ for the player.

They said the bid would be made ‘soon’ and it was expected to be in excess of €40m.

Aouar was described as Mikel Arteta’s priority signing this summer.

Now Telefoot Chaine have returned and they report an offer has been made by Arsenal, although they don’t share the amount. It’s made clear the player would be up for the move, so it’s just a case of reaching an agreement with Aulas, which may be easier this summer than in previous ones.
