Youri Tielemans

Arsenal and AS Roma will fight it out in the summer for Anderlecht youngster Youri Tielemans, according to reports in Italy. The midfielder has been linked with a move to the Premier League in recent seasons, with Everton also repeatedly linked.

TMW report Tielemans is likely to leave the Belgian side in the next transfer window, with a number of clubs across Europe keen to sign the player. Arsenal and Roma are two of the sides said to be interested in Tielemans, as both clubs look to strengthen their squads in the summer.

It’s been claimed it would cost either Arsenal or Roma up to €20m to land the Belgium international, but Everton also have their eye on the young midfielder. The transfer fee wouldn’t be an issue for Arsenal, Roma or Everton.

Tielemans has been linked to Everton for some time, and Southampton scouted Anderlecht whilst Ronald Koeman was in charge at St Mary’s.

The 19-year-old recently admitted a move to Everton at this stage of his career could be ideal because he would be playing in the Premier League but also getting more playing time then he would at other clubs.

That advantage may well be tested by Koeman in the summer.
