Arsenal are now named as the main candidates for the signing of Manuel Locatelli from Juventus.
That’s said by CalcioMercatoWeb, who claim the Old Lady are actually keen on selling the player in the next transfer window.
Juventus will need to make money before going after their main targets in the summer, and that’s why they plan to make the ‘most of a sale’ with him.
That’s where Arsenal show up, with the report claiming the Gunners are ‘above all’ in the race for Locatelli. No other competitors are named.
The story doesn’t say how much Juventus will demand for the midfielder, for whom they paid €30m to buy from Sassuolo.
Locatelli has 32 appearances for the Old Lady this season, being a regular starter, and his departure is seen more as a reason to ‘make room’ for other targets who Allegri wants signed.
That may be a good opportunity for Arsenal, who may find a bargain in this situation. It’s said Juve want to make ‘great sacrifices’ and Locatelli’s departure seems to be the first of them.
