One of the deals that seem almost certain to be done at Arsenal in the coming months is the sale of Lucas Torreira to Fiorentina.
The Uruguayan midfielder has been in fine form with the Serie A side, and there have been numerous articles claiming the Italians are ready to pay the €15m that were pre-agreed to make the move permanent.
They still have time to do that, but the belief is that it will get done, but not without a big of haggling first.
That’s what La Nazione are reporting on Thursday, relayed by Firenze Viola, who explain Fiorentina are ‘planning the redemption’ of both Krzysztof Piatek and Torreira with seemingly no difficulty in either negotiation.
However, it’s expected that Arsenal ‘will present themselves at the table with a bit of pouting’, all because of the Dusan Vlahovic situation.
The Gunners were keen to sign the Serbian before he went to Juventus, which was ultimately his choice, wanting to move to Turin instead of London.
‘This is the point that Fiorentina will highlight’ to make it clear to Arsenal that ‘the Torreira affair is one thing’ and the whole Vlahovic mess ‘was another’.
