Fábio Vieira’s move to Arsenal was a story broke in Portugal on Thursday, and it’s obviously mentioned in the country’s Friday sport newspapers.

Record say Arsenal will make the transfer official ‘in the next few hours’, and that the FC Porto player will sign a five year contract with his new club. They report the Gunners will be paying €35m plus a further €5m in bonus payments.

The bonuses are said to be related to blocks of games Vieira will complete, as well as collective goals at the Premier League club.

Over at O Jogo they go with the same figures, and say the bonus levels are easy to reach. Their report says the only thing left in the transfer process is to make it official.

Jorge Mendes has been in charge of the operation and convinced Porto to accept the offer. There had initially been some hesitation, with the club presumably believing they could get closer to the player’s €50m release clause.

The player himself has been on holiday in Mykonos, Greece, and he’s interrupted that to travel to London and complete his medical tests.

The medical is expected to happen today, and Arsenal fans should be waiting for an announcement.
