Featuring just once in the Premier League since the start of the season, it’s been made very clear by Mikel Arteta that Sead Kolasinać was not an important part of his plans.

A move elsewhere was mooted, with Bayer Leverkusen said to be the likeliest landing spot for the Bosnia international.

However, that move, that would have seen the 27-year-old return to Germany after his transfer from Schalke 04 three years ago, was dependent on Wendell leaving the club.

The Brazilian was being tracked by Hertha Berlin, and had he left, the Arsenal man would have come in to replace him.

Unfortunately for the Gunners, Kolasinać and whoever else wanted this to go through, Kicker in Germany are reporting the Bayer left-back is now expected to stay put, add ‘this is likely to have shattered the possible commitment’ of the Premier League defender to their Bundesliga counterparts.

We’ll have to wait and see if that’s the case, but if one move was dependent on the other, it’s not looking good.
