In the list of transfers no one really expected, Juventus going for Arsenal’s Stephy Mavididi would have been pretty high up on the list.
However, on Thursday, news emerged the Serie A champions wanted to sign the Gunners’ youngster, but Gazzetta dello Sport believe it’s already done.
Reporting on the transfer on Friday, the Italian newspaper claim Juventus ‘have acquired’ the 20-year-old forward, who has already passed his medical ahead of the move being made official.
Arsenal are set to receive €2m for Mavididi, who will play, for the time being at least, in Juventus’ U23 side in order to get acclimatised to his new surroundings.
Gazzetta state everything sped up in the early hours of the morning, as Juventus hope he will, in the near future, be able to develop enough to be properly valued.
With Arsenal throughout his career, Mavididi has also enjoyed loan spells with both Preston North End and Charlton, both coming last season in order to get him some game time.
