Premier League trio Arsenal, Everton and Tottenham are keen on a move for Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Denis Zakaria.

That’s according to BILD, who say all three clubs are ‘luring’ the Switzerland star to the Premier League this summer.

The newspaper explains that Zakaria has spent his summer, following his participation in the European Championships with Switzerland, on the treadmill working on his fitness.

He ran eight to ten kilometres per day in an attempt to stay fit after suffering from Coronavirus at the end of July, but that was not his only goal.

He’s aware that staying fit is the only way he can secure a move this summer, with there ‘no longer any doubt’ that he will leave Gladbach at some point. That’s a sentiment shared on both sides.

The ‘most promising candidates’ come from England and Italy, where Arsenal, Everton and Tottenham, as well as Napoli and Roma, are ‘luring’ him away.

Gladbach had originally wanted as much as €40m for their man, but that is now considered ‘unrealistic’ because of his ongoing injury issues since March 2020.

As such, they would now consider a fee of around €20m as acceptable, which is presumably a price that Arsenal, Everton and Tottenham consider as more than acceptable.

All three would probably need to sell players before making a move first, but it seems the interest is there, and Zakaria is a name to keep an eye on in the last few weeks of the window.
