Lazio star Joaquin Correa’s agent has been in touch with Arsenal and Everton in recent weeks ahead of a possible move this summer.
That’s according to the website Solo La Lazio, who cover the situation in an exclusive on their website today.
They report that a ‘departure is possible’ from Lazio this summer, and several teams in the Premier League have Correa ‘in their sights’.
Arsenal and Everton are chief among them, and according to their information, the forward’s agent has been ‘in contact’ with both clubs in the past few weeks.
Arsenal, in particular, are very keen and said to be ‘fascinated’ by Correa’s potential. An issue, though, is his asking price.
They don’t want to go beyond €20m plus bonuses for him, but Lazio value him at €35m and ‘have no intention’ of opening negotiations at a lower price than that.
That’s because the player is also of interest to new manager Maurizio Sarri and his staff, who would be happy to keep hold of him but have budgeted for a departure under the right conditions.
Whether Everton are interested or what they’re willing to pay isn’t mentioned, just that they have been contacted.
At this point, it is between them and the Gunners, although Mikel Arteta’s side seem keener than their Premier League counterparts.
