Sometimes it feels like the Catalan sports media try to will things into action on behalf of Barcelona, especially from a financial point of view.
They’ve spent months linking multiple Premier League clubs to multiple Blaugrana players, yet there doesn’t appear to be a queue of English clubs waiting to throw money at them.
The latest side being dragged in is Arsenal, with Mundo Deportivo reporting Mikel Arteta’s side has ’emerged strongly in recent hours’ to sign Mika Faye.
Despite that, Barcelona appear to believe they can get big bucks for the defender.
Mundo Deportivo claim Manchester United, Inter Milan and Bayern Munich have been showing ‘a lot of interest’ in the youngster, but it’s Arsenal who have suddenly emerged as a serious option.
Faye himself is apparently frustrated that he didn’t make a single senior appearance in the recently concluded season, and is therefore considering a transfer this summer.
According to the Catalan newspaper, Barcelona can use Faye as a ‘lever’, a way to bring in cash to spend on others in the coming window.
Right now, Arsenal interest and that of others appears to be a desire rather than a reality, regardless of the claims.
