Lucas Perez is edging closer to an Arsenal exit, and a return to former club Deportivo La Coruna, report La Voz de Galicia.
After months of the player’s agent trying to find a solution for the striker, and at times complaining to the media about Arsenal’s temerity to request a reasonable transfer fee, things are getting closer.
La Voz de Galicia report Rodrigo Fernández Lovelle, the agent, has had a chat with Arsene Wenger this week, probably explaining he keeps being misquoted/mistranslated in the media.
Everything is now amicable and there’s a new plan.
Perez could go to Deportivo on loan, which would include ‘numerous and variable clauses’, explain the Galicia newspaper.
These clauses and the idea of a loan are currently being discussed with Arsenal, but there seems to be some optimism from the Deportivo La Coruna side of a deal.
For this to work for Arsenal, these clauses would surely have to be something like ‘Lucas Perez sets foot on grass, the move turns permanent, and Deportivo are contractually obliged to pay Arsenal €15m before the end of the 2018 summer transfer window’.
That would give Deportivo longer to get the money together, and Arsenal would have an assurance they’re not being cheated.
