Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s future is under some doubt, given his contract with Arsenal expires a year from now.
Until there’s a renewal, that will remain the case, and it’s possible the Gunners could look to cash-in during the next transfer window, rather than potentially losing the 31 year old for nothing at a later date.
Barcelona have been linked several times, although it’s thought their preference is Lautaro Martinez. Should Inter Milan lose the Argentine to Barca, it’s been reported they could look at signing Aubameyang themselves.
On Monday afternoon, Bild report English interest in VfL Wolfsburg’s Wout Weghorst. The story concentrates mainly on Newcastle, and it’s then stated Arsenal also have the signing ‘in mind’, ready for if they lose Aubameyang.
Wolfsburg would look kindly at an offer of €35m or over, according to the German newspaper, and Weghorst himself is on record hinting he’d like a move to the Premier League.
The 27 year old Dutchman has scored 20 goals in 42 matches this season, adding a further five assists along the way.
