Héctor Bellerín is not included in Mikel Arteta’s plans at Arsenal and is likely to leave the Emirates this summer.
Friday’s edition of Mundo Deportivo says the right-back has been ‘offered’ to Barcelona.
The La Liga side were keen on signing César Azpilicueta, but his decision to sign a new deal at Chelsea has seen them look at other options. This is where the Arsenal player could fit in.
It’s said the fullback’s agent is negotiating with the Gunners to terminate his client’s contract.
Mundo also highlights Real Betis, the club he spent time on loan last season, are still in the picture to sign him.
Like Barcelona, Manuel Pellegrini’s side are also having financial issues to register new players.
For the time being, the 27-year-old’s arrival at Betis has stopped. Due to this, he ‘doesn’t want to risk’ being released by the north London club if they cannot sign him.
Therefore, the Spaniard is ‘still waiting to resolve his future at Arsenal’.
With Barca offered an opportunity to sign him, Mundo state that if he has been waiting for Real Betis, then he could also wait for his former club.
Xavi Hernández’s side ‘didn’t rule out’ signing Bellerín after he was offered to them, but Barca have informed his camp they have other immediate priorities.
Although Betis and Barca are open to taking the player, their financial situation doesn’t allow them to move for him right away.
It’ll be interesting to see how this case ends up and whether Arsenal will release Bellerín as a free agent this summer.
