Deportivo La Coruna still haven’t found enough money down the back of the club’s sofa to put together a reasonable offer for Lucas Perez.
The Spanish club have been half trying to sign their former player all summer, but haven’t yet managed to pull the deal off. Perez wants to leave Arsenal, and Arsene Wenger is happy to facilitate a sale, but the Premier League club are not simply going to let Depor dictate the terms.
No matter how much Perez’s agent complains in public, or tries to make Arsenal look unreasonable (which is unreasonable in itself), there’s been no collapse so far from London.
Tuesday’s edition of Marca covers interest from Levante and explains Arsenal would be happy with the outline transfer proposed to them, but it’s still down to Perez.
The Spaniard wants to ‘exhaust his options’ to return to Depor before considering any other options.
Given Depor have had all summer, and there’s only a few days left of the window, it may be wise for Perez to at least consider alternatives.
