One of the latest players to breakthrough on the European scene after leaving Paris Saint-Germain, Moussa Diaby is enjoying himself at Bayer Leverkusen.

The young Frenchman has scored five goals and assisted another eight in 27 appearances this season, managing to get himself in the France U21 squad along the way.

His performances have, of course, not gone unnoticed, and when it comes to being linked with talent originating from France, Arsenal are always in the mix.

Le10 Sport are the ones with the story on Tuesday, claiming the Gunners are one of two sides to be taking an interest in the 20-year-old.

The other is none other than Borussia Dortmund, who are all about sniping great talent at a reasonable price to then sell on for a huge profit.

They did it with Ousmane Dembélé, and look set to do so again down the line with Jadon Sancho and Erling Haaland (among others).

Arsenal and Dortmund have contacted the player’s entourage ‘to ask for information’, and it’s pointed out the winger’s agent has an ‘excellent relationship’ with the Gunners, which ‘could clearly facilitate an eventual deal’.

Bought for €15m from Paris Saint-Germain, Diaby would cost ‘at least double’ to convince Leverkusen of parting with their great talent.

That’s still very affordable, even for a club like Arsenal who might not currently have the financial pull of their direct rivals.
