Arsenal are the latest club to show interest in Flamengo youngster Wesley França and contacted his entourage this week to ‘seek information’.

That’s according to RTI Esporte, who report that Arsenal wanted to find out information regarding the numbers that may be involved in a transfer this summer.

According to RTI’s information, Arsenal have been in touch with the player’s entourage to work out how much the 21-year-old right-back may cost.

The numbers they’ve been told have not been revealed as yet but a negotiation will only be opened if Arsenal meet Flamengo’s own demands. Their board have made it clear that there is no possibility of a negotiation for less than €35m.

Internally at the Brazilian club there is still expectation that a higher offer may be made after Flamengo participate in the new Club World Cup in the United States this summer.

They see Wesley leaving as a certainty as he has received inquiries from clubs in Germany, Spain, England, Italy and Russia. He can therefore choose where he wants to go. Arsenal are one of the sides now interested in him.

They may have an advantage as the player has made it clear to his staff that he would like to continue his career in the Premier League. Liverpool have also been in contact with him while other reports have put Chelsea, Manchester United, Newcastle and Tottenham in the mix.

His staff are currently working behind the scenes to dispel rumours of an auction, but the inquiries are mounting. No official proposals have been made, however.
