Arsenal want to open their door for Real Madrid’s Arda Güler in the winter market.
That’s according to Sport, who state Arsenal are considering signing the 19-year-old on a loan deal.
The attacking midfielder has clocked in 747 minutes from 24 games for the La Liga side since joining them from Fenerbahçe in July 2023. His playing time was partly restricted due to injuries last season.
Güler has been fit this season, but Carlo Ancelotti hasn’t provided him with regular game time. This has seen a few clubs approach both his entourage and the Champions League winners.
Arsenal are said to be one of them and are reportedly interested in signing the Turkey international on a loan deal.
The north London club signed Martin Ødegaard from Real Madrid in 2021. He had also struggled for a prominent role with Los Blancos. The Gunners initially signed him on loan in January 2021 and made his stay permanent later that year.
Since leaving the Spanish giants, Ødegaard has developed superbly.
Sport claim Arsenal want to ‘repeat’ the same formula to sign Güler in January. This could be done if the Turkish midfielder understands he has no future under Ancelotti at Real Madrid.
