With Arsenal losing both Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette in a matter of months, their quest for new centre-forwards became obvious, with several targets being named in the rumour mill.

One of them is Espanyol star Raul de Tomás, whose situation is today described by Spanish outlet Super Deporte.

The website writes that the player is ‘on the radar’ of several European sides, and Arsenal are one of them, as the Gunners already ‘confessed’ they’re going for the 27-year-old this summer.

Espanyol were hoping to keep the player for next season, but they may end up changing their mind in case Mikel Arteta’s side turn up with ‘a gratifying offer for all parties’.

Super Deporte claim that the striker, who is protected by a €70m release clause, is valued at €25m. At Espanyol, there’s no panic, since they know he wants to keep working at the club, now under a new manager.

Still, the situation could change if Arsenal actually show up with a bid.
