Arsenal have become the latest club to join the chase for FC Porto’s Mehdi Taremi.

A Bola have a report on the 30-year-old with a title that states the Gunners have set their sights on him for the winter market.

With Arsenal in the mix, it is said the striker’s future could pass through England after the 2022 World Cup.

The Iran international has seven goals and six assists to his name from 11 matches this season. He is aiming to win the title with Porto this season and also be a protagonist with the national team at the FIFA tournament in Qatar.

It’s claimed the World Cup could also open the door for him to move elsewhere in January. He was wanted by English clubs in the summer, but his manager, Sérgio Conceição did not open the door for a move.

A Bola state Taremi’s representatives felt it would be best for their client to change clubs after the World Cup. When discussing his suitors, Arsenal are tagged.

According to the newspaper, Mikel Arteta’s side are ‘committed’ to pushing for a deal in the next window, and Porto are willing to negotiate.

Porto sold Luis Díaz to Liverpool at the start of this year and the report suggests the Portuguese club could be ready to carry out a similar negotiation to sell the Iranian in January.

Chelsea, who have been linked before, also get a mention.
