North London rivals Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur could soon battle for the Roma starlet Cengiz Under, according to the Italian media today.
Both clubs are named by Calcio Mercato as among the sides who are interested in signing the 21-year-old winger.
Tottenham’s chase seems to be in initial stages. The website says Spurs have only been watching and asking for information on the player for now.
Arsenal, however, have gone further than that. The Gunners reportedly had a €30m offer turned down last summer, and as their interest continues, another one could be made in the future.
As it stands, Arsenal are the only club to have made a ‘concrete offer’, Tottenham and others have not.
Roma are said to be open to selling Under, but only for the right price. Calcio Mercato reckons he’s not leaving for less than €40m, and as he’s well protected with a contract until 2022, there’s no rush to sell or develop the talks for a new deal.
