We recently covered a report from Corriere dello Sportabout Arsenal interest in Napoli’s Victor Osimhen. It was mentioned that the Gunners have ‘returned’ to the chase for the striker.
The English press had recently spoken of a potential swap deal between Chelsea and Napoli for Osimhen and Romelu Lukaku. Osimhen’s agent later played down that talk.
Interest from PSG has been spoken of by Corriere dello Sport today, but there is a state of ‘inaction’ from the French club as they do not want to pay what Napoli want right now.
PSG are said to have an agreement with Osimhen’s agent but Arsenal have, it is reported, managed to ‘break in’ and join the race.
According to the report Chelsea isn’t Osimhen’s priority right now and without his approval, the Blues simply can’t sign the Nigerian. That’s quite a surprising claim given previous reports, but perhaps it’s related to a lack of Champions League football.
Arsenal do have that, though, and the clear insinuation is the player would prefer a move there.
