Earlier on Thursday, we relayed multiple claims made in Italy that explained why Juventus ‘cannot accept’ to allow Arthur Melo join Arsenal on a dry loan deal until the end of the season.

It was, however, also stated the Serie A side could be open to letting the midfielder move to the Emirates if the north London club come up with a new formula.

Federico Pastorello, the 25-year-old’s representative, made a trip to London yesterday and TuttoMercatoWeb now claim the agent’s meeting the Gunners confirms the player ‘wants to move to Arsenal immediately’, to ‘respect the word’ he gave to Mikel Arteta.

The Brazilian has seen his playing time improve in recent weeks, which is why Massimiliano Allegri has not given a ‘green light’ for the transfer, while the two clubs are yet to find an agreement despite the ex-Barcelona man being keen to join the Premier League side.

That’s ‘precisely for this reason’ why there have been new contacts in the last few hours, and TMW state the English club ‘can improve’ the offer from a dry loan deal until the end of the season to a loan deal for 18 months, with a ‘possible right of redemption’.

These are far more advantageous conditions for Juventus than the first offer made by Arteta’s side.

Arsenal took a few hours to reflect and according to what emerged from their meeting with Pastorello, they felt it would be ‘finally possible to convince’ the Italian club if they were to improve the offer.

While the new conditions that Arsenal are seemingly ready to offer do appear advantageous for Juventus, the report doesn’t specify whether Allegri’s side will definitely give the green light for Arthur to join Arsenal.
