Arsenal are unlikely to be able to sign Borussia Dortmund midfielder Julian Brandt this month, although a transfer is not out of the question.
The Gunners were linked with the German midfielder at the end of last month, with it claimed their scouts were eyeing a move for him as Mikel Arteta wants to sign a creative midfielder.
The rumour has been doubly dismissed in Germany, with Dortmund sporting director Michael Zorc insisting that a move is not on the cards and Arsenal haven’t shown an interest.
Of course, that hasn’t brought about an end to the rumour, with the player continuing to be linked with a move.
Sky Germany reject that notion today, though, saying that according to their information, everything points at him staying at Dortmund.
They report that while a transfer in the January transfer window hasn’t been ‘excluded’ it is ‘very unlikely’ at this moment in time.
Arsenal may have been linked with a move, but these rumours are not true, and even a loan is not an option for Dortmund’s bosses.
Therefore, everything hints that the Germany international will be remaining at the club for the time being.
Brandt will therefore have to work hard to get back into both the club’s and Germany’s plans, both of which he isn’t a part of right now.
