Since the Brazilian media broke the news about Arsenal’s interest in signing Manchester City striker Gabriel Jesus, several journalists from the South American country have been trying to get more information on this chase.

On Saturday, when the Gunners played Manchester United, Edu Gaspar had a brief word with ESPN Brasil. There he talked about the transfer window and did not address this recent rumour.

Now in a column from Paulo Vinícius Coelho at Globo Esporte, the journalist has a lot to say about the case, and makes a couple of comments about the official’s interview at the weekend.

PVC writes that Arsenal made a request that ESPN Brasil not ask any questions about Gabriel Jesus. And according to him, there’s ‘nothing more revealing about the Gunners’ interest in the Brazilian striker’.

The column points out that Gabriel Jesus’ stay at the club will depend a lot on Pep Guardiola. Not only because it’s the manager who’ll decide whether sell him or not, but also because the Brazilian’s future depends on the minutes he’ll get at the end of the season.

It’s made very clear that the striker wants to play. And if Manchester City don’t give any signs that they count on him, it’s said the 25-year-old himself will insist that he wants to leave for Arsenal.

The coming weeks are then expected to be decisive, especially the Champions League clashes against Real Madrid.
