Barcelona right-back Sergino Dest has told Arsenal he is not interested in a move to the club this summer.
That’s according to Sport, who say the American has made it clear he does not want to leave the Nou Camp after one season.
The newspaper explain that Dest is ‘only thinking about Barcelona’ at this moment in time despite a difficult first year at the club.
He’s struggled to find ‘consistent form’ since arriving from Ajax, and, aware of Barça’s need to raise money this summer due to their ‘difficult economic position’, several clubs have tried to lure him away.
One of those are Arsenal, alongside Juventus and Bayern Munich, but all three have been given one answer by the player; “I’m only thinking about Barca.”
Sport say the full-back’s ‘commitment is total’, and he just wants to improve at the club and prove he was worth the outlay last summer.
Thus, Arsenal will have to turn their attention elsewhere as their hunt for a new right-back this summer seems to keep hitting the buffers.
