Arsenal are interested in a move for Norwegian youngster Sivert Mannsverk but face competition from Aston Villa and Brighton for his signature.
That’s according to La Lazio Siamo Noi, who say the Premier League trio are among a host of clubs, including Lazio, who are keen on the 18-year-old midfielder.
The website reports that the Norwegian youngster, who turns 19 next summer, is earning rave reviews in his homeland with Sogndal, who are currently third in Norway’s second division.
He managed five goals and five assists in 33 games in all competitions last season, with four in each of those categories coming in the OBOS-ligaen.
His displays have not gone unnoticed, with many comparing him to Sheffield United midfielder Sander Berge and believing he could be the next big talent to come out of a country that is ‘churning out’ young stars of late.
He’s attracted ‘several admirers’ due to his ‘personality, talent, and good physique’ and Arsenal, Aston Villa and Brighton are among them and have ‘moved on’ him.
So are Lazio, who have already moved for him and held ‘several contacts’ with his agents and intermediaries over a potential move.
The list doesn’t end there, though, with Bologna and Ajax also keen, with the latter described as a club that ‘attracts’ the youngster due to their history of developing young talent.
Either way, it’s believed Mannsverk is available for just under two millions euros, a price that Arsenal, Aston Villa and Brighton would all be able to afford quite easily.
