Atalanta are ‘working hard’ on a deal for Arsenal defender Nuno Tavares but the Gunners high demands are an issue at present.
That’s according to TuttoAtalanta, who say Arsenal have set a huge €40m asking price on the left-back, despite signing him for €8m just a year ago.
The website explains that Atalanta are keen on Tavares and are working hard to try and find an agreement with those in charge at the Emirates.
Their new director of football is trying to reduce Arsenal’s demands, with it stated the Premier League side are ‘firing on all cylinders’ and asking for €40m for the 22-year-old.
That’s a high price considering Tavares hardly shone at the Emirates this past season following his move from Benfica last summer.
It’s a figure Atalanta don’t seem keen on or are capable of matching, and thus it cannot be ruled out that they will try for a loan deal instead.
This could be a simple loan or one with a right of redemption tagged onto it, albeit for a figure below what Arsenal are currently asking for.
