Arsenal appear to have given in on negotiations with Sevilla and dropped their demand that a loan deal for Albert Sambi Lokonga include a mandatory purchase clause.
That’s at least according to Diario de Sevilla, who, alongside El Desmarque, report that the Arsenal midfielder has a verbal agreement with Sevilla to join them this summer.
We’ll start with the latter, who report that Sevilla are ‘finalising the final details’ of signing Lokonga on loan from Arsenal this summer.
Thus, Sevilla director of football Victor Orta is ‘accelerating’ his efforts to get the deal with Arsenal over the line and ensure Lokonga is a part of Sevilla’s squad as soon as possible.
Diario de Sevilla pick up on this and report that the midfielder ‘has everything agreed’ with Sevilla to make the move, citing El Desmarque’s report.
They say this means that Arsenal must have given in on their demands that a mandatory purchase clause be included in the loan agreement.
They add while the definitive yes is still missing from the deal between the two clubs, Arsenal have seemingly moved close to Sevilla and given in on their desire to secure a mandatory purchase option.
Sevilla had refused that since day one and seemingly gotten their way in the end, with there now a ‘lot of optimism’ that Lokonga will be joining sooner rather than later.
