Bayern Munich will have to battle it out with Arsenal to sign West Ham United star Declan Rice in the summer.
That’s according to Sky Deutschland, who state the midfielder is an ‘absolute dream’ target for Thomas Tuchel, who is in search for a new No.6 in the summer.
Bayern have internally discussed in detail the possibility of signing the West Ham player and have already made contact with his agent. He could imagine making a switch to the Allianz Arena in the next window.
However, the Hammers’ stance and Arsenal’s desire to buy him would make it difficult for the Bavarian club to secure his services.
With West Ham ‘flirting with a very high transfer fee’ for the 24-year-old, the report states the Gunners have ‘already made an €80m offer’ for the England international. The fee proposed by Mikel Arteta’s side is ‘too much’ for Bayern to match.
Tuchel dreams of Rice, but West Ham’s high demands and Arsenal already making a bid is now posing as problems for Bayern to secure Rice’s services in the summer.
Of course, this could just be a German slant to excuse Bayern from the race.
