Emery indentifies 27-year-old as replacement as Mustafi being lined up for Arsenal exit

Friday’s edition of Spanish newspaper AS claims there will be a few departures from the Emirates in the summer transfer window, irrespective of whether the Gunners win or lose against the Blues.

Shkodran Mustafi is the first one expected to be heading towards the exit and manager Unai Emery has set his sights on Getafe’s Djené Dakonam as his replacement.

The Togo international’s preferred position is in the heart of the back four, but he can also feature as a right-back and has been deployed in the defensive midfield position this year.

A short report from AS explains the 27-year-old has emerged as a target for the north London club, but doesn’t provide additional details regarding the versatile player, whose contract at Getafe runs down in 2023.

They also suggest AS Roma’s Kostas Manolas and Mario Hermoso of Espanyol are also in Arsenal’s transfer list.

Meanwhile, Mustafi spoke to Kicker on Thursday and explained he’s unaware where recent exit reports are “coming from”.
