Lille are likely to be in contention to earn big again in the summer, after cashing in around €150m from selling Nicolas Pépé and Victor Osimhen to Arsenal and Napoli in 2019 and 2020 respectively.

Sven Botman and Renato Sanches are expected to leave Lille after this season, but the one who could help them make the most money would be Jonathan David, who has managed 16 goals in all competitions for the French club this season.

According to Calciomercato, the Ligue 1 side ‘rejoice’ at the possibility of cashing in big in through the Canada international’s sale the next window, and Arsenal are likely to be in the market for a new striker.

A move to Italy is unlikely to take shape and when discussing suitors, the north London club are tagged. As per the report, the Gunners are ‘ahead in discussions’ with Lille to sign the former Gent man.

Back in December, the striker’s agent admitted this will be his last season with the Ligue 1 side despite his client having a contract with them until 2025. Earlier this week, David talked about his desire to play in the Premier League.

With Mikel Arteta’s side already holding talks with Lille and David looking for a transfer, he end up at the Emirates, if Arsenal were to convince both him and his club.
