On Sunday, Calciomercato has a very small article on Arsenal interest in Domenico Berardi.
It’s claimed the Gunners have ‘activated’ for the 25 year old and will send observers to watch him for Sassuolo ‘in the coming weeks’.
Berardi has been playing on the right wing for his Serie A club this season, and has nine goals and five assists to his name from 20 matches so far.
Last season he managed ten goals and four assists in 37 matches, so he’s clearly taken a step forward.
Despite that, Arsenal interest still seems curious. Berardi is on a contract until June 2024, having only signed a renewal in October of last year, so he wouldn’t be available cheaply.
Watching a few matches to see if he can provide what Arsenal are looking for causes no harm, but he’d have to show a lot to the Gunners transfer spies if he’s to convince them he should be a priority for the summer window.
