Arsenal were keen on signing a striker in January, but failed to bring anyone through the door during the winter market.
The Gunners also parted ways with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang earlier this year, while Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah have their contracts expiring on June 30th.
Therefore, it will not come as a surprise should Arsenal decide to focus on bolstering their attack in the summer.
According to Calciomercato, the north London club have ‘placed’ AS Roma star Tammy Abraham ‘at the top of the list’.
He has been in fine form for José Mourinho’s side, managing 24 goals and five assists in all competitions this term. However, the Serie A side want to retain Abraham as he is a key part of their ‘three-year project’.
The striker has also reiterated his willingness to continue at the Italian capital club, where they adore him and have ‘adopted him from day one’.
The England international’s agent, Neil Fewings, will continue to earn commission linked to the duration of Abraham’s stay in Rome.
It’s claimed Fewings earned €400,000 in January and is set to earn the same figure again in September, if the player were to continue with Mourinho’s side beyond the upcoming window. This will continue for ‘years to come’, if the ex-Chelsea man stays at Roma.
Despite the interest shown from Mikel Arteta’s side in the frontman, both Abraham and Rome ‘want to continue together for a long time’.
